THE STORY OF THIS PIECE
The first form of the brand — and the form that began STRUGA’s central experiment: one form carried across different types of pieces, from a pendant to a carabiner. The aesthetic came from CNC-cut sheet material — sharp edges, even planes, recessed depth. It is the most widely represented form in the brand.
Read the SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC form story→STRUGA began with CARBON. Multi-layered matte carbon: ultralight, unafraid of water, unchanged by time — the counterweight to living silver. The brand has its own line of signature carbon: six Graphite palettes, a CNC aesthetic, cut from sheet material. CARBON was almost never purely carbon — alongside it, with other materials set in, the MOSAIC family was born.
Read the CARBON form story→MOSAIC — the aesthetic of combining materials. In MOSAIC, carbon is joined with silver, with meteorite, with brass, with copper, with steel. One is set into another, joined with a third in a single plane — and a composition of materials is the result.

A necklace cut from multi-layered matte carbon fiber with an aged copper inlay. It weighs 17 grams and hangs on a 75 cm suede cord. There is no silver in it. The form is SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC, the first numbered form of the brand. Made to order, about four weeks.
Material: the brand's own carbon fiber, multi-layered and matte; aged copper sits in the body, flush with the surface.
Family: SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC — the first form of the brand, from the CODEX world; the object itself lives in the RITUAL world through CARBON and MOSAIC.
Construction: the body is cut on a CNC machine from sheet carbon, and the copper is set into a single plane with it. No bail and no clasp: the cord is knotted through a slot.
Finish: matte carbon and patinated copper. The carbon does not change; the copper keeps darkening from skin and air.
Care: wipe with a soft dry cloth; keep the suede cord away from prolonged water and oils.
The brand began with this pair of materials. SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC is the first numbered form of STRUGA, and it started with objects for the neck. The first ones were exactly this: carbon with inserts — copper, brass, steel, meteorite. The MOSAIC family grew out of that early work, the aesthetic of combining materials, and it was there that the brand chose the carbon palette it still uses. This object holds the same pairing: carbon and copper in one plane.
Aged in the name refers to the copper, not to the carbon. STRUGA has six signature carbon palettes: Classic, Bloody, Toxic, Arctic, Winter and Multy Graphite. Aged is not one of them. It is the name for aged copper, pressed into a dark carbon body and patinated far into green — the field of the inlay is grey-green, mottled with pale streaks. STRUGA patinates its own copper and brass, with its own techniques — the colour of this metal is set, not accidental.
The two materials behave differently, and that is the whole object. Multi-layered matte carbon fiber is ultralight, unafraid of water and unchanged by time — the counterweight to living metal. Copper does the opposite: from skin, air and moisture it keeps darkening, the recesses fall into shadow, and friction lightens the raised areas. The patina sets a starting tone; it does not stop the metal. On long contact copper can leave a dark or greenish mark on the skin, which washes off with soap and water. The 17 grams on a 75 cm cord sit at the middle of the chest and are barely felt.
How it is made: the body is cut on a CNC machine from sheet carbon, the copper is set flush with the surface and patinated. Carbon at STRUGA always runs as an individual order — about four weeks to make, and in that time the palette is tuned to the person. If you want another insert, or a carbon that is not in the catalogue, that is Custom Order.
How Aged differs from the other objects in this form
The same SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC form goes on the neck in three materials, and the choice here is not colour but how much living metal the object carries.

The five palettes are pure carbon: 5 grams, nothing about the piece changes, and only the colour is chosen. Aged is more than three times heavier, because copper sits inside the body, and the copper is the part that moves. The carabiner in the same form costs about the same money, but it is silver: there Living Silver runs across the whole surface rather than one inlay. The difference between these three rows is how much living metal you wear on the neck.
Who it is for and when. This is the object for anyone who wants the recognizable STRUGA form without silver on the neck: carbon does not darken, needs no cleaning and is unafraid of water, so the piece lives easily through travel, the gym and the shower. The 75 cm cord is tied into a loop and the object sits at the middle of the chest — it disappears entirely under a t-shirt or a shirt and never argues with a collar. The inlay now reads grey-green, mottled with pale streaks — this is copper taken far into patina; a narrow metal bar stamped STRUGA sits on top of it. The copper is the only part here that keeps changing: after a few months the mottling reads differently than on the day it arrived. It is worn daily rather than for an occasion. As a gift it lands with people who choose a thing by its material: 17 grams, two materials in one plane, the mark set as a bar on the face.
About STRUGA. STRUGA is a brand of experimental minimalism in Dark Fashion, founded in Bali. Founders and designers — Dmitry Strugovshchikov and Ekaterina Strugovshchikova; the pieces are made in Bali. Most STRUGA objects are 925 sterling silver with a natural patina; this one has no silver at all — the brand's own carbon fiber with an aged copper inlay. An object that changes through contact with the person wearing it.
