Dark Silver · Handcrafted in Bali

About STRUGA

STRUGA was founded in 2018 by Dmitry Strugovshchikov and Ekaterina Strugovshchikova.

It began with a desire to make artifacts that stay with their owner for a long time — perhaps for a lifetime.

Dmitry Strugovshchikov

Dmitry has worked as a designer and entrepreneur since 2008. STRUGA started in 2018 because no silver brand had the structural vocabulary he was looking for — dark, systematic, material-honest. He built the design language from scratch: five permanent worlds, eleven families, each piece placed at a specific coordinate in the catalog.

His practice is material-specific. Every STRUGA object is cast from a wax model in 925 sterling silver — the same alloy, no plating. The silver is meant to change over time. That's what Living Silver means at STRUGA: the object records how it's been worn.

He works from Bali, Indonesia, where every STRUGA piece is handcrafted.

Ekaterina Strugovshchikova

Ekaterina has been part of STRUGA's design practice since the brand's founding in 2018.

Structure

STRUGA created its own worlds and families

Every STRUGA piece belongs to one of five worlds — permanent design territories, each with its own language. Within the worlds live eleven design families: every piece is part of a vocabulary, not a standalone product.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who founded STRUGA and when?
STRUGA was founded in 2018 by Dmitry Strugovshchikov and Ekaterina Strugovshchikova. Dmitry has worked as a designer and entrepreneur since 2008 and built the brand's design language from scratch; Ekaterina has been part of the design practice since the founding. The brand began with a desire to make artifacts that stay with their owner for a long time.

Is Living Silver the same as oxidized or plated silver?
No. Living Silver at STRUGA is not a coating and not a pre-applied darkening. Every object is cast in 925 sterling silver — the same alloy, no plating — and the silver is meant to change over time. The surface records how the object has been worn; that change is a property of the material, not a defect.

What is the difference between a STRUGA world and a family?
A world is not a family. Worlds are five permanent design territories — CODEX, RITUAL, LAB, DARK UNION, ISLAND ARTIFACTS — each with its own language. Within the worlds live eleven design families, such as Blade, Thorn or Brutalism inside CODEX. Every piece sits at a specific coordinate: one world, one family.

Where are STRUGA pieces made?
Every STRUGA piece is handcrafted in Bali, Indonesia, where Dmitry works. Each object is cast from a wax model in 925 sterling silver, the same alloy across the catalog, with no plating. The material is chosen to age with its owner rather than stay fixed in a showroom state.

Is DARK UNION a collection of ordinary wedding rings?
No. DARK UNION is both a world and a family — the ready-to-buy ring line of alternative wedding and engagement rings for couples who reject the polished-diamond template. Like everything at STRUGA, the rings are cast in 925 sterling silver and belong to the brand's system of worlds and families.

Are ISLAND ARTIFACTS just souvenirs?
No. ISLAND ARTIFACTS is a curated gift line of collector pieces that carry the spirit of Bali — objects within STRUGA's system of five worlds, not disposable keepsakes. They are made the same way as the rest of the catalog: handcrafted in Bali and cast in 925 sterling silver.
