THORN is STRUGA's third form, a family in the CODEX world. Its sharp angles combine the aesthetics of CNC machining — cutting material to a defined geometry — and 3D modelling. The design began as a chain link, then developed into bracelets, earrings and a ring. The points lightly prickle the skin, making the shape something you feel as well as see.

Choosing a construction

The Thorn Bracelet is a flexible chain of links weighing 4.95–5.4 g. Big Thorn Bracelet, the brand's first rigid bracelet, is a silver arc with carbon inlays, weighing 45–95 g. Construction and weight make these different objects to wear; compare those before choosing a size.

There are three ways to wear the form on the ear. The Thorn Earring places one element on the lobe. Thorn Stud fastens with a threaded post and a flat screw-back disc. Both require a piercing and are sold singly. The Thorn Ear Cuff L needs no piercing. The Thorn Ring carries the angular silhouette onto the hand.

How the pieces are made

Making begins with a wax model and a silicone mould. The piece is then cast in 925 sterling silver and finished by hand. The points are cast in the metal. The table gives the weight of each complete piece, which varies by size; Big Thorn's weight includes its carbon.

Silver without rhodium plating
