The custom DARK UNION route is made to order. Production starts after the direction, sizing approach, materials and budget have been agreed. The Thorn Ring is available to order from the catalogue; confirm the required size and dispatch timing before buying. It is the first piece in the growing DARK UNION catalogue line.
02How long does production take?+–
Typically 2–4 weeks from sketch approval — often sooner. Super-urgent orders are considered individually in conversation. If the ring is needed for a specific date, tell us before the brief is finalized.
03Do I need an exact ring size?+–
No. You can start without an exact size. We define the sizing approach with you remotely before production begins.
04Can you engrave the rings?+–
Yes. Dates, initials, symbols, or short private text can be engraved on proposal rings and wedding pairs as a customization option.
05What budget should I expect?+–
Each ring is made individually, so the price depends on the weight of the metal, the type of stone or stones, the complexity of the form and its size, and how urgent the order is. The design is priced by the number of distinct rings: a pair of identical rings is one design, $350; two different rings are two designs, $700. Silver is $50 per gram of the finished ring, and the $250 consultation deposit is paid before the sketch and credited toward the final quote. A budget range is set before production begins. For gold or another metal, the team confirms an individual quotation after the sketch.
06Can I start if I only have a rough idea?+–
Yes. You do not need a finished design to write to us. A rough direction, a date, references, or even a few words about the person are enough to begin.
07What does a black wedding band mean?+–
Different traditions read a black ring differently; there is no single meaning. A couple can choose a dark surface and give it their own meaning.
08Will the dark finish wear off?+–
The oxide lives in the recesses; the ridges lighten where the hand works. That is not a defect — the surface records the union. Patina is a property of dark silver, and the ring keeps changing with the pair.
09Is 925 silver practical for a daily wedding band?+–
Yes — 925 is the international standard and is worn daily. Silver can scratch with daily wear, and these marks become part of its changing surface. For those who want a mirror finish that never changes, dark silver will not suit — Dark Union is for those who want the ring to live.
10Can we get a matching pair in different sizes and widths?+–
Yes. One direction, individual sizes — that is how a Dark Union pair is built. Width, finish and engraving are chosen for each partner separately.
