MOSAIC — the Story of the Form

MOSAIC — the aesthetic of combining materials.

In MOSAIC, carbon is joined with silver, with meteorite, with brass, with copper, with steel. One is set into another, joined with a third in a single plane — and a composition of materials is the result.

MOSAIC appeared from the very beginning, together with carbon: this family was born in the brand's first collections, made from classic carbon. MOSAIC is not a numbered form like SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC or BLADE — it is a material principle. The family lives in the RITUAL world, next to CARBON, and that neighborhood has a reason: the two were born together.

How was the MOSAIC family born?

STRUGA began with CARBON. The first tests, the first pieces were made of carbon — this is the beginning and the inspiration. And MOSAIC was already inside that beginning.

CARBON was almost never purely carbon — from the very beginning other materials were set into the carbon: silver-plated metal, copper, brass, meteorite. This is how two families were born at once — CARBON and MOSAIC.

The point of birth is easiest to see in the story of SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC — the first form of the brand. STRUGA began with it — and so did the project's central experiment: take one form and carry it across different types of pieces. The aesthetic came from CNC-cut sheet material — sharp edges, even planes, recessed depth.

It started with a pendant, and there were many. The first ones were carbon with inserts — copper, brass, steel, meteorite, patterns. The MOSAIC family grew out of that early work, and it was here that the carbon palette the brand still uses was chosen.

MOSAIC has no separate moment of invention. The family grew out of the brand's earliest practice — carbon pendants with other materials set into them — and has carried that principle ever since.

Which materials does MOSAIC combine?

MOSAIC is a vocabulary rather than a shape, so the family is best read through the materials it joins in one plane. Each of them keeps its own behaviour, and that is the point of the combination.

Read from top to bottom, the table is also a scale of speed: carbon does not move at all, silver moves fastest, copper and brass sit between them at a pace the workshop decides.

What does the MOSAIC family hold today?

Today MOSAIC is a vocabulary of materials joined in a single plane. Besides 925 silver, STRUGA works with other metals, and all of them go into carbon as inserts:

• copper — its colour is set by the workshop;
• brass — a warm tone, patinated by hand as well;
• stainless steel — a stable structural insert;
• silver-plated metal — where shine is needed without cast silver.

And copper and brass STRUGA does not simply set into the work — the brand oxidizes and patinates them itself, with its own patination techniques.

What does meteorite do in the composition?

Meteorite is a material with geological weight. STRUGA currently works with a single meteorite — Seymchan — and fuses it into its objects: in pendants and in MOSAIC inserts. Meteorite here is material and geology, not a promise.

The carbon in these compositions has its own register. STRUGA has its own line of signature carbon — palettes selected by the brand: Classic, Bloody, Toxic, Arctic, Winter and Multy Graphite. That palette was chosen in the same place where MOSAIC was born — in the brand's first pendants.

Why does the family live in the RITUAL world?

The family lives in the RITUAL world — the dark, spiritual side of the brand, the Dark Fashion aesthetic. RITUAL is objects with personal symbolic weight:

• amulets and talismans;
• stones and meteorites;
• crosses;
• carbon and compositions built from it.

It is a world where shamanism exists alongside modern materials and technologies; for this world STRUGA makes objects that accompany their owners.

How many pieces carry the MOSAIC principle today?

As of August 2026 the MOSAIC family holds twenty pieces, and they sit almost entirely around the neck: sixteen necklaces and pendants, three bracelets, one earring. That imbalance is not a gap in the range — it comes from where the family was born, in the brand's first carbon pendants.

Two of the twenty carry the Seymchan meteorite: the Asymmetric Fused Winter and the Asymmetric Fused Bloody. The rest divide by palette — six pieces in Bloody, three in Arctic, and single pieces in Toxic, Multy and the aged copper finish.

How does MOSAIC live on the body?

A MOSAIC composition lives on the body at different speeds — that is its character. Multi-layered matte carbon: ultralight, unafraid of water, unchanged by time. It is the counterweight to silver — silver is alive, it darkens and patinas, while carbon stays the same.

STRUGA silver is not rhodium-plated — it stays alive. The beauty of this silver is in the traces of handwork: in the slight imperfection, the unevenness of the surface, the patina and the darkening. Imperfection here is part of the object's beauty, not a defect. Patina is the natural pattern of oxidation — a map of how the object is worn.

And the color of copper and brass the brand sets with its own hands, the same way it lays down the dark surface of its silver. So several speeds of time live in one composition:

• carbon holds the form unchanged;
• silver darkens and patinas;
• copper and brass keep the colour the brand gave them.

The longer the object stays on the body, the clearer the difference between the materials reads.

As of 2026, MOSAIC remains a material principle, not a numbered form: carbon joined with 925 silver, Seymchan meteorite, brass, copper and steel in a single plane, living in the RITUAL world beside CARBON. The silver is not rhodium-plated — it darkens and patinas while the carbon stays unchanged, so one composition carries several speeds of time.

How is MOSAIC different from CARBON and FUSED?

Three families of the brand are easy to confuse, because all three are named after material rather than after a silhouette. They answer different questions.

The short test: if the piece is made of carbon, it is CARBON; if two or more materials meet in one plane, it is MOSAIC; if the surface looks melted rather than cut, it is FUSED. One object can be read through more than one of them — the Blade Fused Mini Line earring sits in three families at once.
