Looking for brands like Chrome Hearts begins with deciding what you want to keep: a cross, a skull, the weight of silver, a dark surface or the history of the maker. These ten independent brands offer different answers, with their own forms and ways to buy.

How this comparison is arranged

STRUGA publishes this guide and includes its own pieces. No brand paid for placement. The order is editorial, taking the reader from familiar forms to less familiar ones; it is not a ranking of artistic merit.

The comparison considers form, material, the price of a particular piece and how it can be bought. Prices and delivery terms carry dates because a July example is not a current offer. The sources are collected below. A separate Chrome Hearts supply-chain disclosure does not explain retail pricing.

Which brands are like Chrome Hearts?

For skulls and biker silver, start with The Great Frog, Gaboratory and Bill Wall Leather. Lone Ones has a direct connection to Chrome Hearts through its founder Leonard Kamhout. Werkstatt:München, Chin Teo, OSS and Parts of Four place more emphasis on surface and sculptural form. Hard Jewelry offers silver and steel with gothic motifs; STRUGA works with edges, asymmetry and spaces between volumes.

For a small-scale comparison, look at the Blade Ear Cuff (L) alongside the other ear cuffs. The difference between a flat band and a raised relief is easy to see. Each product page gives its material and current price. Below are a ten-brand table and links to STRUGA's families.

How much do Chrome Hearts alternatives cost?

Affordable is relative here. A directly ordered piece and a collector's item with uncertain availability present different buying decisions. A few dated product prices are more useful than a permanent price range assigned to an entire brand.

What does dark silver mean?

Sterling silver contains 92.5% silver; the remaining 7.5% consists of alloying metals. A dark colour does not indicate a different purity. Oxidized describes a surface treatment, while gothic describes a style. Similar-looking pieces may therefore have different underlying metals. [23]

Silver reacts with sulfur compounds. Tarnish on pure silver is silver sulfide, while sterling can also develop copper sulfide. Humidity and the concentration of sulfur-containing gases affect the rate. An existing layer may slow the process, but it does not stop further tarnishing permanently. [20]

Oxidation darkens a piece during finishing; patina develops through exposure and wear. STRUGA calls its uncoated 925 silver without rhodium plating Living Silver. What distinguishes Chrome Hearts?

Chrome Hearts began in 1988 with leather motorcycle riding gear, with Richard Stark instrumental in its founding. The CFDA profile describes sterling silver, gold, platinum and precious-stone pieces, almost every product made in small quantities at the Hollywood factory. [1]

Its silver belongs to that particular context: riding leathers, crosses, blackletter and recognizable motifs. A similar symbol from another label does not carry the same history. An alternative becomes more interesting when its own approach to form is visible.

Buying access also differs. On July 18, 2026, the official online shop listed Baccarat, scents, underwear, intimates and socks, but no jewelry category with checkout. Ask an official boutique about the current arrangements for the piece you want. [2]

Why is Chrome Hearts so expensive — and what can be compared?

Silver purity alone does not explain the price of a finished ring. Chrome Hearts does not provide an itemized cost breakdown here, so a description of small-batch production cannot tell us its exact labour cost or markup. A reseller's asking price is also different from the brand's retail price.

Specific offers give the buyer a firmer comparison. On September 4, 2026, the brands' own stores showed a forged silver band at Werkstatt:München from €175, a Great Frog ring from £130 and a Parts of Four silver ring from €310. [22] These examples show different purchase prices, not that every piece from one brand costs less than every piece from another.

Original, replica or alternative: what is the difference?

An original comes from the brand itself. A replica repeats another maker's design or marks. An alternative can share a material or mood while retaining its own form. The ten labels below are included as alternatives.

The word replica does not establish metal composition, and a similar finish does not establish purity. Four checks make a purchase easier to compare:

1. Material and seller. Look for a stated alloy and an identifiable seller. Marking rules vary by country. A complete UK hallmark includes a sponsor, fineness and assay-office mark, with weight exemptions. A lone “925” stamp is not a complete hallmark and does not identify the maker. UK marking guidance.
2. Weight and construction. Grams help you imagine a piece on the hand. Hollow construction, size and dimensions change its feel; heft alone does not confirm the alloy.
3. The price of the exact piece. Compare the same material, size and finish. A low price cannot by itself establish that an object is plated.
4. Returns. Find out who accepts a return and on what terms before paying. The FTC's buying guidance explains how to check the description and seller.

The ten brands in detail

1. STRUGA

With STRUGA, attention falls on an edge, a gap and the arrangement of volumes. Designers Dmitry and Ekaterina Strugovshchikov founded the brand in 2018. Its pieces are cast and finished by hand in Bali. Uncoated 925 silver without rhodium plating, called Living Silver, gradually acquires patina. [3]

Compare the BRUTALISM V.3 with the Thorn ring: rectangular bars in one, sharp edges in the other. Matched rings in agreed sizes and materials can be commissioned through DARK UNION. The STRUGA profile introduces the founders.

The October 2026 press kit, read on October 16, records a $95–$3,705 catalog range, direct worldwide orders and a 14-day exchange window. That range covers different materials and product types; the terms of a particular purchase depend on the piece. [3]

2. Hard Jewelry

Hard Jewelry's gothic motifs appear in both silver and steel. That makes the material selection essential to a comparison: a photograph alone does not tell the whole story. In July 2026, its rings collection offered .925 sterling silver and stainless steel, with regular and sale prices. [5]

William Velazquez founded the brand in Ogden, Utah, in 2017, starting in a basement. [4] On July 18, 2026, its About page stated free US shipping, free worldwide shipping on orders from $92 and returns within 14 days. [6] Check those terms again before ordering. Read more about Hard Jewelry.

3. The Great Frog

The Great Frog's interest in the skull begins with anatomy. The brand says a real human skull, excavated from a 17th-century Dutch monastery, provided the reference for its Anatomical Skull rings. The object informed the hand-worked ring form. [7]

Carol Lehtonen and Paterson Riley opened the Carnaby Street shop in London in 1972. The official history names their son Reino Lehtonen-Riley as Creative Director and Head Designer after roughly thirty years of learning within the workshop. That continuity helps explain why a form can remain recognizable for decades. [7] The Great Frog's history.

4. Chin Teo

A small Chin Teo piece can resemble a freestanding sculpture. RAW Looks describes the Malaysia-born, Berlin-based maker through monumental volumes, work in silver and gold and natural surface textures. The eponymous brand was founded in 2009. [8]

For a concrete price comparison, RAW Looks listed the polished-silver Cage Ring Mini at €154 on July 18, 2026. That is one retailer's price on that date, rather than a starting price for the entire Chin Teo catalog. [8]

5. OSS

At OSS, a form often develops while the material is being worked. Founders Josefina and Pablo, an Argentine couple, say most pieces begin without sketches and retain the irregularities that emerge during production. The brand began in 2016; the two now work from a Madrid studio. [9]

The Tiny Band Ring Bis shows the same approach at a smaller scale. On July 18, 2026, OSS offered the solid-925 ring made to order at $199, handcrafted in Madrid. It provides a specific form and ordering arrangement to compare. [10]

6. Werkstatt:München

Look closely at where the parts meet in Werkstatt:München's pieces. The official history describes each component being made separately, with the jewelry handcrafted in Munich. Klaus Lohmeyer founded the brand in 1996 after training to work in gold and silver and qualifying as a master craftsman. [11]

The history read on July 18, 2026, also named recycled metals and vegetable-tanned leather, and described avoiding chemical surface coverings and plating. That helps explain the attention to the material itself. The finish of a particular ring—light, dark or polished—still belongs in its own description. [11]

7. Parts of Four

Sculpture is a useful starting point for Parts of Four. Founded in 2011, the brand is designed by Los Angeles-born Evan Sugerman, whose background is in sculptural processes. The brand page read on July 18, 2026, described its forms as ungendered and non-seasonal. [12]

The same page listed Paris and Bangkok and stated that worldwide shipping was free with taxes and duties covered. [12] Read those terms again for a new purchase: choosing a large sculptural form and arranging its delivery are separate considerations.

8. Bill Wall Leather

Bill Wall Leather's silver sits alongside a history of motorcycle clothing. After a crash, Bill Wall began making protective leather apparel; the brand was established in Malibu in 1985. The official account also describes his models: originals carved from silver blocks, then reproduced by casting in limited numbers. [13]

Terms read on July 18, 2026, welcomed international orders and listed worldwide shipping at $20 for priority or $50 for express. [14] That direct purchase can be compared with finding a particular piece through a third-party seller.

9. Gaboratory

Gaboratory has a specifically described object in this comparison: the Quarter 11 Skull Links Bracelet. On July 18, 2026, its official shop page stated Silver925 and an estimated three-to-ten-week delivery window. [16] Both the material and the estimate belong to that bracelet, not every piece carrying the name.

A Japanese trademark decision adds a dated record to the history: it identifies Gabor Nagy as a Gaboratory Inc. manager and gives his death as January 16, 1999. [15] A separate Yohji Yamamoto notice announced the postponement of a Gaboratory silver-accessory collection planned for July 29, 2023; it does not establish a completed release. [17]

10. Lone Ones

Lone Ones has a direct connection to Chrome Hearts: Leonard Kamhout, one of Chrome Hearts' founders, established it in 1996. A bird sits inside the Crane Bell, which sounds as the pendant moves. Material and size change the tone. The form involves sound as well as appearance. [18]

On July 18, 2026, the official Japanese shop offered overseas orders through WorldShopping. A 10% service fee, international shipping and handling were added, with eligibility depending on the destination. [19] Alongside the pendant's size, compare the full cost of receiving it.

Silver weight, in grams

After form, compare mass. The weight of the same ring changes with its size: BRUTALISM V.1 weighs 9.6 g in size 15 and 24 g in size 22. Neither figure describes the whole model. The table gives specific STRUGA variants checked against the catalog on October 17, 2026.

Chrome Hearts to STRUGA: comparing forms

If a particular kind of object draws you to Chrome Hearts, you can compare another approach without looking for a copy. STRUGA treats the cross, chain, ring and ear cuff differently.

The ear cuff. The BRUTALISM V.1 in size M sits on the rim of the ear without a piercing. Its current catalog weight is 2.61 g; size L weighs about 7.5 g. The uncoated silver gradually darkens, while areas exposed to friction grow brighter.

For skulls, begin with The Great Frog's Anatomical Skull and Gaboratory's silver. For a connection to a Chrome Hearts founder, consider Lone Ones' bells. Compare Werkstatt:München, OSS and Chin Teo through surface and construction, and Parts of Four through sculptural volume.

Hard Jewelry offers a choice between silver and steel. STRUGA is worth considering for straight edges, asymmetry and silver that changes with wear. No label replaces everything about Chrome Hearts. The useful choice is a particular piece whose own form appeals to you.

How to choose dark silver

1. Identify what you like about the piece: a skull, cross, bell, relief or smooth plane.
2. Read the metal and surface descriptions separately. A photograph's colour is not a specification of purity or plating.
3. Compare the dimensions and weights of the selected variants, as well as their photographs.
4. Calculate the full purchase: the piece, shipping, duties and any forwarding fees.
5. Keep the seller's description and return terms. For resale, also check provenance and condition.
