Do wedding bands have to match?
No — and there are no paired sets in the STRUGA catalogue at all. A pair here is two separate rings that share a direction of form: the same family, the same language of the surface, but their own width, weight and proportion. Two hands are not the same hand, and a band that reads well on one of them can look borrowed on the other.
In practice a pair is built one of two ways. Two rings are taken from the catalogue — the same model in two sizes, or two different models from one family. Or a pair is made to a brief, where width, finish and engraving are set for each ring separately and the two are made together so they match.
What stays shared is the decision: the family, the finish language and the engraving. What stays personal is everything the hand feels — the width across the finger, the weight in grams, the inner diameter.
Silver or gold for wedding rings?
Silver is a working choice, not a budget compromise — but it asks for care that gold does not. 925 sterling is 925 parts of silver per thousand, with copper for strength — that is how fineness is recorded in hallmarking, in parts per thousand. It is softer than 14k gold, so a band worn daily collects fine marks within the first year, and light silver darkens on its own from air and skin.
That is the whole trade. That leaves room for the one thing that actually delays weddings: a size that turns out wrong when the ring is finally tried on.
