THE STORY OF THIS PIECE
STRUGA began with CARBON. Multi-layered matte carbon: ultralight, unafraid of water, unchanged by time — the counterweight to living silver. The brand has its own line of signature carbon: six Graphite palettes, a CNC aesthetic, cut from sheet material. CARBON was almost never purely carbon — alongside it, with other materials set in, the MOSAIC family was born.

FUSED is the aesthetic of molten metal: pieces have no clear borders, angles or edges, and the whole surface is wavy and melted. Here the silver has spread across the top of the carbon plate and closed around its edge, so no seam between the materials is visible. MOSAIC carries the other half of the idea: different materials joined in a single plane, and a composition is the result.
The carbon is the Bloody Graphite palette: a layered matte material, black and graphite, with a red line running through it. It is cut on a CNC machine from sheet material. The silver is 925 — 92.5% pure silver, uncoated: the recesses of the relief darken while friction lightens the raised edges. The carbon behaves differently — it does not darken and does not change over time.
The silver part is made like this: the form is modelled first, in 3D or by hand in wax. A silicone mould is taken from the wax model and the silver is cast. A silversmith finishes the piece by hand. The carbon is cut on the CNC separately.
