Frequently asked questions
Is this a single earring or sold as a pair?
A single earring, for one ear. It is a self-contained object — a second earring is not needed and is not made. Worn as a mono-earring on one lobe.
How much does it weigh and how does it sit?
The earring is 7 grams of 925 sterling silver, for one ear. The weight is noticeable, as you would expect from an object-earring on a single lobe. It is the large size (L) — the two thorns hold together as a pair.
What is a Thorn Amulet, and what is the AMULET family?
AMULET is a STRUGA family from the RITUAL world: earrings and necklaces set with raw, wild-grown stones. A Thorn Amulet is a type within that family — a torpedo-shaped thorn cut in half, with a stone grown inside it. An homage to Daniel Arsham.
What stones are set inside, and are the pieces identical?
Inside each of the two thorns is a raw, wild-grown tourmaline: nature set the form, there is no cut. The stones and their pairing differ from earring to earring, so each is a single piece — there is no exact repeat.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver — 925 silver without rhodium plating. The earring arrives light and darkens with air and skin: the recesses of the relief deepen, while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect. You can bring the metal back to the light with care: a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths — this matters especially next to a raw, untreated stone.
