Frequently asked questions
What is the necklace made of, and what does it weigh?
The object is pure carbon, no metal: a plate in the SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC form, CNC-cut from layered carbon in the Bloody Graphite palette. It weighs 5 grams — carbon is ultra-light, so on the neck the necklace is barely felt. It hangs on a 75 cm suede cord.
What is the SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC form?
SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC is the brand's first form and its DNA: sharp edges, flat planes, set-in recesses. It is the aesthetic of CNC-worked sheet material. STRUGA began with this form, and its first incarnations were carbon.
What is Bloody Graphite carbon?
Bloody Graphite is one of STRUGA's six in-house carbon palettes. The carbon is layered and matte; in cross-section you can read the layers — red surfacing through black and graphite. It is ultra-light, unbothered by water, and does not change over time.
Does the carbon darken and take on a patina, like silver?
No. Unlike silver, carbon does not change over time — it neither darkens nor patinates. A wipe with a soft cloth is enough; carbon is unbothered by water. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths.
What is the CARBON family?
CARBON is the STRUGA family the brand began with. It is CNC aesthetics: the form is machine-cut from sheet carbon, so the edges are flat and the ribs clean. STRUGA has its own line of in-house carbon — six palettes; this necklace is in the Bloody Graphite palette, pure carbon with no inlays.
