The brand's third numbered form did not begin as a piece of jewelry — it began as a single chain link with its edges sharpened. Where the form came from

THORN is the brand's third numbered form, and it did not begin as a piece of jewelry. It began as a single chain link, and STRUGA drew everything else out of that one link. The canon fixes the path word for word, as the description of a living collection.

The third form of the brand. THORN — a thorn with sharp angles.

THORN brings together two aesthetics — CNC and 3D-modelling; it carries traits of both. THORN pricks the skin a little — and will not let you forget it.

THORN began as a chain link. The links became bracelets and chokers; then came the THORN Amulet, repeating the form in volume, with raw wild-growth stones; then the simple THORN earrings; then the Big Thorn Bracelet — the brand's first rigid bracelet; and the Thorn Ring.

For STRUGA, THORN is the aesthetic of the thorn: a sharp angle that holds beauty.

Two aesthetics meet in the one detail. The exact cut plane comes from CNC; the volume and the growth of the thorn come from 3D-modelling. One form carried across different types of pieces — a chain link become bracelet, choker, amulet, earring, ring — is what the language of the CODEX world is.

Anatomy of the thorn

The sharp angle holds the form. The thorn narrows to a point, the edge runs on a slant, and the silhouette reads as a thorn from across the room. There is no ornament: the angle does the work. THORN pricks the skin a little — and will not let you forget it; the form reminds you of itself by touch, not by shine.

The surface is Living Silver, sterling silver 925 without plating. The edges the hand touches lighten over time, while the recesses between the thorns sink darker, toward graphite — and the relief of the thorn reads sharper. The piece darkens along its own geometry, and the angle reads keener with age than on the day it was bought.

What the THORN family holds

Seven pieces stand in the family, and all of them carry one angle at different scale. The choice inside the form runs by type of piece and by length rather than by ornament, so the lengths are worth keeping in view.

• Thorn Links Chain — the very chain of links the form began with. Four lengths: 40, 45, 50 and 75 cm, from a short choker to a long chain.
• Thorn Bracelet — the same links on the wrist, edges sharpened by hand. Two lengths: 17 and 21 cm.
• Big Thorn Bracelet — the brand's first rigid bracelet: an open arc that does not bend and is not built from links, set with fifteen machine-cut carbon inlays. Six of them carry the letters STRUGA. Five lengths: 16, 17, 19, 21 and 23 cm.
• Thorn Ring — a ring, sizes 16 to 22.
• Thorn Earring and Thorn Stud Earring — one angle in two volumes: a mono earring carrying the full thorn, and a stud lying flat to the lobe. Both without a stone, in one size.
• Thorn Ear Cuff (L) — the same edge set at the upper ear, held by its own band, worn without a piercing.

The form is one; the ways into it differ. The chain and the bracelet give you the link, the ring and the cuff a solid edge, the earrings show the angle at its cleanest, with no setting and no stone. The Big Thorn Bracelet stands apart: a silver arc with carbon inlays, the most demanding object the brand makes.

The Thorn Ring

The Thorn Ring is a late point in the family: the form reached it only after passing through the bracelets, the chokers, the earrings and the amulet. On the hand it is a heavy architectural object, not a smooth band — the sharp angle set as an object on the finger. People look for a silver thorn ring by the form itself, and THORN answers that literally, with the angle rather than a reference to it.

The Thorn Ring belongs to the THORN family. Beside it, across the world, runs the same thorn at a different scale: the THORN Amulet repeats the THORN form in volume, and the earrings and the Big Thorn Bracelet carry the same angle. One thorn, drawn out across types of pieces.

The ring has a second address. It is the only piece in the DARK UNION line — the ready-to-buy one, as opposed to the made-to-order world of the same name; the line began its sales with it. In form the ring stands where two CODEX languages meet: the half-link cut from THORN and the heavy planes of BRUTALISM. There is no stone in it, and the silhouette is asymmetric. Sizes run 16 to 22.

Its place in CODEX

THORN lives in the CODEX world — STRUGA's everyday architectural language, its DNA. The family was moved here on purpose: in an earlier version of the canon THORN stood in RITUAL, then it was fixed to CODEX. The THORN Amulet still sounds through the RITUAL world as an object — one form that touches two worlds.

Beside it in CODEX stand the other forms of the same world: SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC, BLADE, SIGNATURE HEART, BRUTALISM. Each is about a clean line and a silhouette you recognize; THORN is the one about the sharp angle and the thorn. The brand's third form, grown from a chain link into a large family: chokers, earrings, rings, bracelets.

THORN and the Thorn Amulet — what each is, and is not

Two names in the catalogue sound almost alike, and they are constantly confused. The line between them is simple. THORN is a family of the CODEX world, the third form of the brand. The Thorn Amulet is not part of that family: it is a type inside the AMULET family, which lives in the RITUAL world. They share exactly one thing — the amulet repeats the THORN form in volume.

The difference shows in the object. Not one of the seven THORN pieces carries a stone: the bare edge does the work. The Thorn Amulet is built around a raw wild-growth stone — tourmaline and aquamarine, in three sizes, each stone unrepeatable. Hence the different answers to "which one should I take": THORN is about geometry, the amulet about the stone set against that geometry.

One more pair is worth separating — the THORN family and the CODEX world. The family answers for the form, the world sets the frame of choice: beside THORN in CODEX stand SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC, BLADE, SIGNATURE HEART and BRUTALISM, each solving the everyday piece by its own line. THORN solves it with a sharp angle.
