THORN compressed into a stud — the smallest silver reading of the design, flat to the lobe.
The Thorn Stud is a single 925 silver earring of 1.6 grams, and it costs $95. The checkout charges the same sum in rupiah: Rp 1,690,000. It is the smallest object in the THORN family — one planar element on a straight post, no stone. Made to order in about two weeks. The price is for one stud: it is worn as a mono earring, or ordered twice for a pair.
Material: 925 sterling silver, handmade, no stone.
Weight: 1.6 g. Price: $95 for one stud, made to order in about two weeks.
Family: THORN (world CODEX) — the sharp-angled thorn form scaled to a single planar stud on a straight post.
Surface: Living Silver — 925 without rhodium, darkens on its own; a property, not oxidation and not a defect.
Wear: mono or paired.
Care: soft cloth or silver-cleaning solution; no harsh chemicals or ultrasonic baths.
THORN is the third form of the brand — a thorn with sharp angles, where two aesthetics meet: CNC and 3D-modelling. In the large pieces the angle pricks the skin and will not let you forget it; in the stud the same angle is compressed into a mark on the lobe. This is not the amulet with a crystal inside — it is the plain everyday THORN earring.
How it differs from the other THORN earrings
Three earrings in the family carry the same sharp-angled form and diverge in two things: how much silver sits on the lobe, and whether a stone is part of the piece. The table is built from the catalogue, weight by weight.
Read the table down the weight column. This stud is 1.6 g and stays flat against the lobe, so it reads as a mark rather than as an object. The Thorn Earring takes the same geometry at 2.5 g and stands clear of the ear, where the sharp angles are visible from the side. The Amulet earrings are built in two parts — a narrow silver huggie above, and below it a small silver torpedo cut open on the diagonal, with a raw crystal standing in the opening. Each Amulet holds its own stone and exists in a single copy.
Who it is for and when to wear it
1.6 g is a weight you stop noticing within an hour. The stud does not pull on the lobe and sits close against it, so it survives a night's sleep, a helmet and a shirt collar. That makes it the everyday piece of the family — the one worn on days when the rest of the silver stays at home.
It also works as a first THORN object. The form is the one that runs through the bracelets, the chain and the ring, scaled down to its smallest reading, so it introduces the geometry without committing to a large piece. And it works as a second earring next to a heavier one: the stud fills the other ear without arguing with it.
The price is for one stud, and both ways of wearing it are deliberate. A single stud reads as a mono earring, asymmetric on purpose. A pair reads quieter and more even — for that, order two. The silver has no plating and darkens as it is worn, so anyone who wants a piece that stays factory-bright should choose differently.
About STRUGA. STRUGA is a dark silver jewelry brand founded by Dmitry Strugovshchikov and Ekaterina Strugovshchikova, handcrafted in our Bali workshop by master silversmiths. Every piece is 925 sterling silver. This stud is Living Silver: silver with no plating, which darkens on its own from air and skin. The darkening is part of the design. It is a brutalist object that reacts and changes through contact with the environment and the wearer.
