Blackened, not merely unplated
Every piece STRUGA makes in silver is unplated, so all of it darkens eventually. These four started dark: the metal was blackened at the bench before shipping.
The difference shows in where the black sits. Natural patina builds unevenly, following contact. Deliberate blackening goes into every recess at once, and then wear lifts it from the raised surfaces — the piece brightens where it is handled while the depths stay black.
What is in this collection
Three necklaces and one ear cuff, from 1.6 to 40 grams. Two are silver alone; two combine silver with carbon.
Reversible
Silver cleaner lifts blackening as readily as natural tarnish. Nothing here is permanent — you are choosing a state, not repairing a defect. Most people leave it.
Care
Leave it and the piece keeps developing. For a lighter surface, work cleaner over the raised planes only and leave the recesses dark. Take silver off before the pool — chlorine darkens unevenly and in a way you did not choose.
