Frequently asked questions
How much does the pendant weigh, and how does it sit on the chain?
The pendant is 40 grams of 925 sterling silver. It is a heavy object — you feel its weight on the chain and against the body. The chain itself is plain silver: the whole statement is carried by the splitter alone.
Why is the form destroyed — is that intentional?
Yes. The splitter is cast in silver and then deliberately taken out of its perfect form: bent, fractured, and oxidized to the state of something dug out of the ground. The destruction here is the intent, not a flaw.
Is the chain included, and can it be changed?
The pendant comes on a plain silver chain. The chain is kept deliberately quiet so the object holds the attention. For questions about the chain or length, write to us through Custom Order.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver — 925 silver without rhodium plating. The finish is blackened, so the surface is darkened in advance; from there the silver keeps reacting to air and skin: the recesses of the relief deepen, friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect. You can bring the metal back toward the light with care — a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths.
What is the SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC family?
SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC is the first form of STRUGA, from the CODEX world. Its aesthetic came out of CNC machining of sheet material: sharp edges, flat planes, recessed cuts. STRUGA carries a single form across different types of pieces; Asymmetric Destroyed is its destroyed version in a dark register. Each piece is handcrafted in Bali, Indonesia.
