How heavy is the Brutalism V.1 Ring and how does it sit on the hand?
The weight depends on the size: 9.6 g in size 15, 14 g in size 18 and 24 g in size 22. These are the heaviest rings in the STRUGA catalogue — the next ring in the brand by mass weighs 13 g. On the finger V.1 sits as a solid block: the weight is legible, but the wide band spreads it and does not cut into the skin. If you have worn signet rings before, the presence will feel familiar. If you haven't, expect a week of adjustment.
How do I choose the right size for the Brutalism V.1 Ring?
V.1 is a closed form with relief across the upper plate, so it cannot be resized later without breaking the geometry. Measure a ring you already wear on the same finger, ideally in the evening, when fingers are slightly larger. If you are between sizes, go up — a mass of 14 to 24 g prefers a slightly looser fit. The size is confirmed before production starts; every ring is made to order.
How do I care for the Living Silver finish?
Living Silver is 925 sterling silver without rhodium plating. The surface reacts to skin, air and sweat, and that is the point. Patina settles into the gaps between the bars and deepens the relief, while the raised ribs lighten with wear. Basic care: wipe with a dry cloth after wear, keep it away from chlorine and harsh chemicals. If the patina goes too far, a soft toothbrush with mild soap brings it back. Don't polish the whole surface — you will erase the history.
Can I order V.1 in a custom size or with a dark finish?
Yes. A non-standard size, engraving inside the band and black oxidation of the V.1 geometry are handled as a Custom Order. Share the request with STRUGA before checkout. The general frame for custom work is about three to six weeks; it is a frame, not a date, and the team confirms the exact schedule for the approved design. A ready dark version already exists in the family — that is V.3.
What makes this a STRUGA ring and not just another silver ring?
V.1 grew out of work with an architect around Soviet brutalism — the honesty of raw concrete, open formwork, no cosmetic layer. STRUGA translated that into metal: a smooth wide band as the load-bearing part, a field of flat bars of different lengths above it, steps along the edges instead of an even rim. It is one variation of the BRUTALISM design code, not a step in a series. Like BLADE, THORN, SIGNATURE HEART or SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC, it is built to be worn as part of the body, not stored in a box.
