BRUTALISM — the Story of the Form
The fourth form of the brand. BRUTALISM — architecture in silver.
It is an exploration of Soviet brutalist aesthetics: its forms, its lines, its visual composition. The family develops under the influence of Suprematism — Suprematist motifs are present in it.
The BRUTALISM rings are the heaviest and most massive in the brand. Today the family is rings and ear cuffs; it is young, and the range will grow.
How the Form Was Born
BRUTALISM lives in the world of CODEX — the everyday architectural form, the DNA of the brand. CODEX is clear lines and silver for every day: the signature form of STRUGA, the one by which the brand is recognised.
CODEX is not an observation of the world but a workshop of forms. Here STRUGA creates a form that did not exist before and carries it through different types of objects — from a chain link to a pendant, from a carabiner to an earring. That is how recognition appears: a style and a form that read as STRUGA at a glance — you look at a CODEX object and you see the brand at once.
BRUTALISM is the fourth numbered form of this world, after SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC, BLADE and THORN. It has no long chain of transformations the way THORN does — THORN began as a chain link; the starting point of BRUTALISM is the language of architecture itself. An exploration of the forms, lines and visual composition of Soviet brutalism became silver, and Suprematist motifs guide how the family develops. The family is young — its chronology is still being written.
The language it speaks is the language of CODEX: modern experimental minimalism. Simple lines, simple yet recognisable forms. No stones, no inserts — only pure uncoated silver that oxidises in contact with the world around it.
What the Family Has Gathered Today
Today the family is rings and ear cuffs. The BRUTALISM rings are the heaviest and most massive in the brand.
The STRUGA atlas of forms reads these objects like this. A massive ring is a ring made to hold visual weight — larger, more sculptural, more pronounced than the everyday. At STRUGA this is where BRUTALISM, THORN, FUSED and Triple Drills live.
A signet ring is a flat or slightly domed plate on a band — historically, made to leave an imprint. STRUGA signets are heavy, oxidised, architectural; they sit in the BRUTALISM and THORN families.
An ear cuff is a form in its own right, made for a single accent or an asymmetric stack. STRUGA cuffs sit in the BLADE, SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC, BRUTALISM, THORN and CARBON families — oxidised 925 silver with carbon elements. BLADE, SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC, BRUTALISM and THORN carry ear cuffs, not rigid cuff bracelets.
How the Form Lives on the Body
A ring is the smallest, most defining silver object on the body. The atlas reads rings by weight, by surface, by intention — not by occasion. A BRUTALISM ring holds visual weight and holds it daily: CODEX gathers objects for everyday wear, for night and club life, for travel and parties.
The ear cuff works differently: a single accent — or an asymmetric stack, a composition of several piercings, cuffs and forms in dialogue.
The surface of the family is alive. Living Silver is the STRUGA term for 925 silver without rhodium plating: the surface keeps living with the one who wears it — friction brightens the raised edges, the recesses darken. STRUGA silver is not rhodium-plated; it stays alive. For an architectural form this means the composition only reads more clearly with time: the edges catch light, the recesses gather shadow.
925 silver is 92.5% pure silver — the international standard. The beauty of this silver is in the traces of handwork: in the slight unevenness of the surface, in the patina and the darkening. Imperfection here is part of the object's beauty, not a defect.
