Carabiner #2 Small is a working silver carabiner on a 75 cm chain: 5.98 grams of 925 sterling silver, unisex, $160. Made to order in about two weeks. It carries the SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC form — the first form of the brand — scaled down to a clasp worn on the body.
The gate works. It is sprung, opens inward, takes a key, a tag or a second pendant, and closes again. The silver is light and polished, nothing darkened in advance, so the patina this piece grows on the chest is its own.
925 sterling silver, no rhodium plating. 5.98 g on a 75 cm chain. $160.
CODEX world, SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC family — the first form of the brand, out of CNC-cut sheet material: sharp edges, even planes, recessed depth.
A working carabiner clasp worn as a pendant — clips onto anything or hangs on the chain.
Living Silver finish: the metal darkens with air and skin; patina is a property, not a defect.
Care: soft cloth or silver-cleaning solution; avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths.
SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC is a family of the CODEX world and the first form of the brand. STRUGA began with it, and with it began the central experiment of the project: take one form and carry it across different types of pieces. From a pendant the form moved into construction — a chain link, a toggle clasp, a carabiner bail. Carabiners #1, #2 Small, #2 Big and #4 all carry it, some as hardware inside another object, some as the object itself. Here it is #2 in the small size, hung on its own chain.
The body is an elongated loop with flat sides: one end rounded, where a small ring holds the chain, the other narrowing to a corner cut away at an angle. A straight sprung bar runs along the long side and works as the gate. The chain is thin cable, 75 cm, closed by its own small lobster clasp — the carabiner here is the object, not the fastening.
925 sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver, and the surface is Living Silver — left without plating. The 5.98 grams are spread along 75 cm of chain, so the weight is not felt at the neck. The metal darkens from air and skin: the recesses go dark while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect, and care brings the metal back to the light.
How it is made: the form is modelled first, in 3D or by hand in wax. A silicone mould is taken from the model and the silver is cast. Master silversmiths finish the carabiner by hand and fit the gate.
Carabiner #2 Small: on the chain or in the ear
The same carabiner is made as two pieces. What changes is where it is worn, how much silver there is, and the price.

Who it is for, and when. This is an everyday object rather than an occasion one. At 5.98 grams the carabiner is small: on a 75 cm chain it sits low on the chest, goes under a collar and comes back out over a t-shirt, and it does not announce itself across a room. STRUGA does not split objects by gender, and the length works on a wider neck as well as on a narrow one. It suits people who keep one chain on permanently and want it to do something — the gate is real, so a key, a ring or a second pendant can travel on it. As a gift it is one of the easier STRUGA objects to choose: there is no size to pick, the surface is plain silver, and the price sits at the entrance to the brand rather than at its ceiling. For the same form with more weight, on the wrist, it is also made as a bracelet.
About STRUGA. STRUGA is a dark silver jewelry brand founded by Dmitry Strugovshchikov and Ekaterina Strugovshchikova, handmade in Bali by master silversmiths. This piece is 925 sterling silver left unplated — Living Silver, with nothing darkened at the bench. It arrives light and darkens through contact with air and skin, and that change is part of the design.
