How much does the Thorn stud earring weigh, and how does it sit in the ear?
The Thorn stud is 1.6 grams of 925 sterling silver. It is the smallest object in the THORN family: light, it does not pull on the lobe and sits close against it. Made for everyday wear.
Is this an earring with a stone, or an amulet?
No, there is no stone here. This is a plain everyday THORN earring — the thorn form scaled down to a stud, on a straight post fastening. The amulet with a crystal inside is a separate object in the family; the stud does not repeat it.
Is the earring sold singly or as a pair?
The price is for one stud. It is worn both as a mono earring — a single piece — and as a pair. If you want a pair, you can order a second one through Custom Order.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver: 925 silver without rhodium plating. The stud arrives light and darkens from air and skin — the recesses of the relief deepen, while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect. You can return the metal to the light with care: a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. Do not use harsh chemicals or ultrasonic baths.
