STRUGA began with CARBON. It is a CNC aesthetic: the form is cut from sheet carbon on a machine, so the planes are even and the edges clean. The brand has its own line of signature carbon — six Graphite palettes; Bloody Graphite is the red-and-black one, and its layers show along the cut. Multi-layered and matte, this carbon is ultralight, unafraid of water, unchanged by time.

CARBON was almost never purely carbon: from the very beginning other materials were set into it — copper, brass, steel, meteorite. That is how the MOSAIC family was born beside it, the aesthetic of materials joined in a single plane. This cross stands where the two families meet: the carbon frame and the copper cross inside it sit flush, like one part made of two materials. STRUGA patinates copper itself, with its own techniques — which is why the inlay reads warm against the cold silver of the chain.

The metal here is not only in the inlay. The bail is a wide polished loop of 925 sterling silver, and the chain is silver too, 75 cm long. Silver without rhodium plating is Living Silver: it darkens from air and skin, and the shadow gathers first in the links of the chain. Patina is a property, not a flaw; the metal can be brought back to light with care. The carbon meanwhile stays as it was, so what changes over time is the contrast between the dark frame and the light chain — not the cross itself.

It is made like this: the form is modelled — in 3D or by hand — then cut from sheet carbon on a CNC machine. The copper cross is set into the opening, flush with the carbon; the object is assembled and finished by hand, and the silver bail and chain are made separately.
