THE STORY OF THIS PIECE

The first form of the brand — where STRUGA began. The first form of the brand. STRUGA began with it — and so did the project’s central experiment: take one form and carry it across different types of pieces.

Read the SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC form story→

A composition of Seymchan meteorite, Winter Graphite carbon fiber, and 925 sterling silver — assembled in the Signature Asymmetric form, the second meteorite necklace in STRUGA's starting line.

The meteorite fragment is around 4.5 billion years old. The Widmanstätten patterns on its surface formed over millions of years of slow cooling in deep space — a texture no human process can replicate. Winter Graphite brings the cold palette: white and pale layers cut on CNC from multi-layered sheet carbon. Silver is cast from a wax model, then fitted to the carbon by hand. Each meteorite fragment is one of a kind. On a 75 cm braided nylon cord with medical steel beads.

A cosmic artifact worn on the body. For those who want to carry something older than the Earth itself.

Three materials in one object: Seymchan meteorite, Winter Graphite carbon and 925 sterling silver.

Form: SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC — the first form STRUGA ever made. The language of joining materials is the MOSAIC family.

The silver is Living Silver: 925 without rhodium, so it darkens with air and skin over time; carbon and meteorite do not change.

Each meteorite fragment is one of a kind, its Widmanstätten pattern impossible to reproduce.

Care: the silver's patina is a property, not a defect — return it to the light with a soft cloth or silver-cleaning solution; the carbon needs only a wipe.

About STRUGA. STRUGA is a brand of experimental minimalism in Dark Fashion, founded in Bali. Founders and designers — Dmitry Strugovshchikov and Ekaterina Strugovshchikova. Production: Bali and Stavropol. Most pieces are 925 sterling silver with natural patina or hand-patination; this object is carbon fiber with a Seymchan meteorite, without cast silver. A brutalist object.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the necklace weigh, and how long is the cord?

The object weighs 80 g — the geological weight of the meteorite itself. It is a piece you feel: it sits on the chest as a substantial object rather than a delicate one. It hangs on a braided nylon cord 75 cm long, finished with medical-steel beads.

What is the necklace made of?

Three materials. The centre is a fragment of Seymchan meteorite; beside it sit a carbon plate in the Winter Graphite palette and 925 sterling silver. Bringing different materials into one object is the language of the MOSAIC family. The form is SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC — the first form STRUGA ever made.

What kind of meteorite is this, and why does it matter?

It is a Seymchan meteorite, roughly 4.5 billion years old. Cut and polished, the surface reveals Widmanstätten patterns — a crystalline figure that took millions of years to grow as the metal cooled slowly, and that cannot be reproduced. STRUGA speaks about the meteorite as material and geology: its value here lies in its origin and the weight of the substance. Every fragment is its own; there is no second piece like it.

Why does the silver darken while the carbon and meteorite do not?

The silver here is Living Silver — 925 sterling without rhodium plating. It is alive: it darkens with air and skin, the recessed areas of the relief deepen, and friction lightens the raised edges. Carbon and meteorite are built differently and do not change over time, so the contrast between the materials only grows stronger. The patina on the silver is a property, not a defect; you can bring it back to the light with a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. The carbon simply needs a wipe.

What is the MOSAIC family?

MOSAIC is the STRUGA family built on joining materials: carbon set with silver, meteorite, copper, brass, steel — one inset into another within a single plane, until the pieces read as one composition. This necklace is Seymchan meteorite, Winter Graphite carbon and 925 sterling silver held in one object.
