Frequently asked questions
Is this a pair of earrings or a single one?
A single earring — a mono. Each Thorn Amulet is built around its own stone, so the object is singular, one of one. It is worn alone, in one ear.
How much does the earring weigh, and what size is it?
4.9 grams of 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver. Size M is the central proportion of the Thorn Amulet, the one the line was built on: present in the ear, but not heavy.
Is the stone held by prongs?
No. The grey tourmaline is a raw, wild-grown stone, left uncut. The silver holds it inside the diagonal cut of the torpedo, without prongs. Stone and metal sit in the same cold palette.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver — 925 silver without rhodium plating. The earring darkens with air and skin: the recesses of the relief deepen, while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect. You can bring the metal back to the light with care — a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. Work around the stone. Do not use harsh chemicals or ultrasonic baths.
What is a Thorn Amulet?
The Thorn Amulet is a type within the AMULET family of the RITUAL world. Its form repeats the THORN as volume: a torpedo cut on the diagonal, with a raw stone grown inside it. An homage to Daniel Arsham. Each amulet is assembled around its own stone, and is therefore singular. Handcrafted in Bali, Indonesia.
