This piece is sold. The stone is raw and no two repeat, so the exact piece cannot be remade. A close necklace of the same model, with its own stone and tone, takes about two weeks.

AMULET is a STRUGA family from the RITUAL world: earrings and necklaces built around an uncut, wild-grown stone. Classic is one of the family's two flagship models, a restrained cylinder: a stone in a silver setting on a chain. Here it is brown quartz — smoky and translucent, with two points. The silver cap is cut on a diagonal and covers only the crown of the crystal; the rest of the stone is left open, chips and internal fractures included. The stone is not faceted — it holds the form in which it grew. The stone is material and geology, not a promise of effect.

925 silver is 92.5% pure silver. The setting weighs 9 g, the chain measures 75 cm. The surface is Living Silver, without plating. The silver darkens from air and skin: the recesses of the relief deepen, while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect; the metal can be returned to the light with care.

How it is made: the setting is modelled first — in 3D or by hand in wax. A silicone form is taken from the wax model and the silver is cast. The finished setting is worked by hand and the selected stone is set into it.

How this necklace differs from the other quartz Classic Amulets

The Classic model was built with four quartzes. The setting and the chain length are shared; the stone, the weight and the price differ.

Who it is for, and when it is worn

The necklace sits on the chest: a 75 cm chain drops the stone below the collarbones, over a sweater or a T-shirt. Nine grams — the weight is felt, but it does not pull at the neck, and the object does not get in the way through a long day.

Brown quartz is the quietest of the four: a smoky grey-brown tone that does not argue with clothing. It is chosen when one visible object is wanted instead of several small ones — with a shirt, with a coat, with black. Clear quartz is lighter and reads better in summer; green is sharper in colour. The second green variation is four times heavier at 40 g and reads as a large object rather than a pendant.

Silver without plating darkens: within two or three months of wear the setting stops being light and moves to a dark tone. For anyone who wants the metal to stay exactly as it looks in the photograph, this surface will not suit — the patina has to be taken off with care.
