The amulets of this family are very different — from the quiet and classic, in a precise Japanese reading of minimalism, to the large and voluminous that make themselves heard.
The most expressive is the THORN amulet: its form is like a torpedo cut in half, as if found in the earth after thousands of years, with a crystal grown inside. It is an homage to Daniel Arsham.
FAQ
What is the AMULET family?
AMULET is a STRUGA family within the RITUAL world: earrings and necklaces built around raw, wild-growth stones in sterling silver 925. Its pieces span from quiet, classic forms read through Japanese minimalism to large, voluminous objects that make themselves heard across the range.
Is the Thorn Amulet the same as the THORN family?
No. The Thorn Amulet is a type inside the AMULET family, in the RITUAL world. The THORN family is separate, belonging to the CODEX world. Same word, different entities: one is an amulet type, the other a distinct family. They should not be confused.
Is Living Silver the same as oxidation?
No. Living Silver is a property of 925 silver without rhodium: the metal lives and darkens on its own over time. Oxidation is a technique, where the piece is darkened immediately. Both change the surface, but one is inherent and one is applied.
What stones does the AMULET family use?
The family sets raw, wild-growth stones, kept in their natural grown state rather than faceted or polished smooth. Stones such as tourmaline, aquamarine and quartz appear as geology and material. STRUGA describes them by origin and form only, making no claims about any effect.
Is the darkening a defect?
No. Patina on sterling silver is a property and a map of wear, not a flaw. The surface deepens and shifts with time and handling. This is expected behaviour of Living Silver rather than damage, and it records how the object has been carried.
