#4 opens the scale up: a L-size Thorn frame in 925 silver, split across the body to hold a raw aquamarine at its most visible. The stone here is not decorative — it's the centre of gravity. THORN geometry at full proportion: planes sharp, edges clear, the crystal sitting inside like it grew there. Unplated silver — its surface will keep evolving with wear.

How much does the earring weigh, and is it a pair or a single?
This is a mono earring: a single piece, 6.5 grams of 925 sterling silver. It is worn on its own, as a standalone object, without a matching pair. The L size is the largest of the aquamarine Thorn Amulets.
What is a Thorn Amulet, and why this form?
The Thorn Amulet is a type within the AMULET family, from the RITUAL world. The form reads like a torpedo cut in half — as if unearthed after thousands of years, with a crystal grown inside it. It is an homage to Daniel Arsham. The angles are sharp: the thorn aesthetic is what the piece is built on.
Is the stone real, and why is the earring made one at a time?
Inside sits an uncut aquamarine of wild growth: it formed in its natural shape, without faceting. Every stone like this is made one at a time, so the earring exists in a single example.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver — 925 silver without rhodium plating. The earring darkens with air and skin contact: the recesses of the relief go dark, while friction lightens the raised edges. On the large L setting the patina reads boldly. Patina is a property, not a defect. To bring the metal back to the light, care for it with a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths — the stone is uncut.
How is the earring made?
First the form is modelled — in 3D or carved by hand in wax. A silicone mould is taken from the wax model, and the silver is cast. The maker then finishes the setting by hand, and the aquamarine is selected and seated inside by hand — each stone gets its own fit.
