Frequently asked questions
How much does the earring weigh, and how does it feel in the ear?
The Carabiner earring is 2.5 grams of 925 sterling silver, in the small size. It sits light; the ear barely registers it. The form is compact and made for everyday wear.
Does the carabiner actually work, or is it only the shape?
The mechanism is functional. It is the same spring carabiner as Carabiner #2, the one that serves as the clasp in STRUGA's bracelet line, scaled down to an earring: the spring opens and snaps shut. You can clip the earring to almost anything, or simply wear it.
Is the earring sold singly or as a pair?
This is a mono earring — worn on its own, as a standalone object. If you want a pair, you can take two. Availability of a second earring can be confirmed through Custom Order.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver — 925 silver without rhodium plating. The earring arrives light and darkens with air and skin: the recesses of the relief deepen, while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect. You can bring the metal back to light with care: a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths.
What is the SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC family?
SIGNATURE ASYMMETRIC is STRUGA's first form, from the CODEX world. It began the brand's central experiment: one form carried across different types of pieces — from a chain link to a carabiner. The aesthetic came out of CNC machining of sheet material: sharp edges, even planes, recessed cuts. It is the most widely represented form in the brand.
