STRUGA — Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions — STRUGA

Common questions about STRUGA sterling silver jewelry, Living Silver philosophy, custom orders, shipping, and care. Reach out at info@strugadesign.com if your question isn't here.

What is 925 sterling silver?

925 sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals — most often copper. The 925 hallmark stamped on a piece confirms this composition. STRUGA uses only 925 sterling silver across the entire catalog.

Does STRUGA silver tarnish?

Yes — and that is intentional. STRUGA pieces are uncoated (no rhodium plating). The natural patina that develops from skin contact, friction and time is part of the brand identity. We call it Living Silver. Each piece becomes a unique map of how it has been worn.

Why no rhodium plating?

Rhodium plating creates a uniform shiny finish that wears off in 1–3 years and cannot be restored at home. Living Silver philosophy means the piece develops character with you, not against you. Patina can be cleaned back to bright finish anytime with a polishing cloth.

Where is STRUGA made?

Every piece is hand-crafted in our workshop in Ubud, Bali (Indonesia). We work the traditional way — wax model → 925 silver → hand finishing — with traditional Balinese silversmithing combined with contemporary brutalist design. The Russian production line in Stavropol was added in 2026 for the Russian market.

How do I place a custom order?

Custom orders go through the Dark Union service for engagement and wedding bands, and through Custom Order page for any other piece. Lead time is 3–6 weeks. Email custom@strugadesign.com or fill out the form on /pages/custom-order.

How long does shipping take?

Worldwide shipping from Bali takes 7–14 business days via DHL Express. Russian orders ship from Stavropol within 2–4 business days. Tracking is provided for every order.

What is the return policy?

Standard catalog pieces can be returned within 14 days of receipt for a full refund (buyer covers return shipping). Custom and made-to-order pieces are non-refundable. Sizing exchanges are free for the first attempt.

How do I care for STRUGA jewelry?

Wear it. The patina will develop naturally and is part of the design. To restore brightness, use a soft polishing cloth (included with every piece). Avoid harsh chemicals, chlorinated pools, and ultrasonic cleaners. Store in the provided fabric pouch.

How do I find my ring size?

Use a printable ring sizer at /pages/ring-size-guide or measure an existing well-fitting ring. Rings can be resized within 1–2 sizes for a small fee within 30 days of purchase. Custom Dark Union pieces can be sized exactly during the design process.

Is STRUGA silver hypoallergenic?

Yes. 925 sterling silver with copper alloy is hypoallergenic for the vast majority of people. Without nickel content, even sensitive skin tolerates it well. If you have a known silver allergy, consult a doctor before purchasing.

Who designs STRUGA?

STRUGA was founded and is designed by Dmitry Strugovshchikov. The brand name is taken from his surname and is never translated. Every piece passes through Dmitry before going into production. Read the full story at /pages/about-struga.

Can I see STRUGA pieces in person?

Yes — the Bali storefront is in Ubud (address on /pages/contact). For Russia, fittings are available by appointment in Stavropol. We also work with select B2B partners including PoisonDrop (11 stores in Russia and Dubai), 47Store, and MoodBrand.
