Frequently asked questions
How much does the earring weigh, and how does it sit on the ear?
The amulet earring is 3.5 grams of 925 sterling silver, size S. The torpedo body has presence yet stays light on the ear. This is a mono earring: a single object, worn alone.
Is the stone real, and has it been treated?
The stone is a natural green tourmaline, untreated and wild-grown. There is no cut: the form is set by the geology of the crystal itself. The colour is warm and earthen, shifting across its faces from deep moss to olive. The crystal sits in the open recess of the torpedo, without facets or a setting.
What is a THORN Amulet, and the AMULET family?
The THORN Amulet is the most expressive type within the AMULET family of the RITUAL world. Its form reads like a torpedo cut in half with a crystal grown inside it — an homage to Daniel Arsham. In volume, the THORN Amulet repeats the form of the THORN family: the sharp angle of a thorn.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface of the torpedo is Living Silver — 925 silver without rhodium plating. The earring arrives light and darkens with air and skin: the recesses of the relief deepen, while friction lifts the raised edges back to light. The patina is a property, not a defect. You can return the metal to the light with care: a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. The stone does not darken in the process. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths.
Is this a single earring, or a pair?
This is a single object — the exact piece: one mono earring with a specific stone, #22. The stone, the colour and the character of each amulet are its own; there is no second one exactly like it. It is worn alone.
