Nothing in this section is blackened at the bench: the silver darkens on its own, and the carbon does not change at all.

The cross here is geometry — two axes meeting — rather than a devotional object. The six pieces in this section are built from 925 sterling silver and matte carbon, weigh from 3.7 to 130.28 grams, and are priced from Rp 2,670,000 to Rp 14,260,000.

Five of the six join silver with carbon; the sixth, the Fused Cross Ring, is solid 925 silver. Each object is made to order in about two weeks.

How is a STRUGA cross different from a devotional cross?

A devotional cross is an object of church practice: it is blessed, worn under clothing, and its shape follows a canon. Nothing in this section belongs to that category.

Here the cross is taken as a drawing — two axes, the point where they meet, and the material each arm is made of. The interest sits at the joint between materials, not in the symbol. What you bring to the form is yours, and we do not decide it for you.

The practical consequence is freedom of scale. A bracelet of 130 grams and a ring of 3.7 grams carry the same geometry.

Why do silver and carbon age differently?

925 sterling silver with no plating darkens in its recesses and brightens where it rubs against skin and cloth. That is Living Silver — a property of the metal, not a treatment applied at the bench.

Carbon holds exactly the tone it started with. It is multi-layered, matte, ultralight and unafraid of water.

On an object that joins both, the arms of the cross age at different speeds, so the contrast between them grows on its own over a year. A polishing cloth returns the silver to light in minutes; the carbon needs nothing.

What makes a 130-gram bracelet wearable?

The Carabiner #2 Big Cross Bracelet weighs 95.2 to 130.28 grams depending on size. A solid silver object at that scale would be heavy to wear.

Carbon solves it: the large arm is made from carbon while the silver carries the structure and the clasp. The weight stays inside the range where a bracelet is worn daily rather than on occasion.

Care

Silver takes cloth or silver cleaner whenever you want it lighter. Carbon needs nothing.

Take silver off before the pool: chlorine darkens it faster and more coarsely than air does, in a tone you did not choose.
