Frequently asked questions
Is this a pair of earrings or a single one?
A single earring, worn solo. It is one of one: the stone inside it is its own, and there is no second like it. Worn on its own.
What stone is it, and has it been treated?
Aquamarine — a variety of beryl colored by iron, kin to emerald and morganite. The stone is untreated: not cut, not set, chosen by hand and left as it grew. The cylinder holds it open to view.
Why size L, and how large is it?
L is the largest cylinder in the Classic Amulet line. It carries more silver, and the aquamarine is shown whole, at full scale. The earring weighs 5.5 grams of 925 sterling silver.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver — 925 sterling silver with no rhodium plating. The earring arrives light and darkens with air and skin: the recesses of the relief go dark, while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect. You can bring the metal back to light with care — a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. Do not scrub the stone with a brush, and avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths.
What is the AMULET family?
AMULET is a STRUGA family from the RITUAL world: earrings and necklaces built around untreated, wild-grown stones. The family holds three types of amulet; this one is Classic — a silver cylinder that holds the stone at full scale. Handcrafted in Bali, Indonesia.
