Frequently asked questions
How much does the ear cuff weigh, and how does it sit on the ear?
The cuff is 1.6 grams of 925 sterling silver, size M. No piercing is needed: it slips onto the edge of the ear and holds on its own. It is light, and you barely feel it on the ear.
What does V.1 mean, and how do the BRUTALISM versions differ?
Each BRUTALISM version has its own geometry — these are not stages of a single form but separate objects. V.1 is the rawest version: thick, unground edges, the texture of the wax prototype left visible after casting. The unfinished quality here is deliberate.
Are the tool marks on the surface a defect?
No. The edges are not smoothed and the wax texture is not polished out — they are left as they are. This is the language of BRUTALISM: silver without polishing, carrying the visible marks of the work.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver — 925 silver without rhodium plating. The cuff arrives light and darkens with air and skin: the recesses of the relief darken while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect. You can bring the metal back to the light with care: a soft cloth, or a silver-cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths.
What is the BRUTALISM family?
BRUTALISM is the fourth form of STRUGA — architecture in silver. The family explores the aesthetics of Soviet brutalism under the influence of Suprematism. For now it is rings — the heaviest in the brand — and ear cuffs; the family is young, and the range will grow.
