Frequently asked questions
How much does the Thorn Amulet weigh, and how long is the chain?
The amulet is 9 grams of 925 sterling silver. It comes on a single fixed chain, 75 cm long. The object has weight you can feel on the chain — it sits low, against the chest.
Is this a one-off piece, or are there several?
This is the second Thorn Amulet, cast on its own. Each casting is the only one of its kind, and the stone inside is rough and wild-grown — so no two amulets are alike. The first and second pieces read differently on the body.
What is the stone inside the amulet, and can it be chosen?
Inside the form sits a rough, wild-grown stone, left uncut. STRUGA describes the stone as material and form, with no claims about what it does. For a custom order, the brand can source almost any rough stone — write to us through Custom Order.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver — 925 silver without rhodium plating. The amulet arrives light and darkens with air and skin: the recesses of the relief deepen, while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect. To bring the metal back to the light, care for it with a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths.
What is a THORN amulet, and what is the AMULET family?
AMULET is a STRUGA family from the RITUAL world: earrings and necklaces set with rough, wild-grown stones. The THORN amulet is the most expressive object in the family — a torpedo form cut in half, with a crystal grown inside it. It is an homage to Daniel Arsham.
