Frequently asked questions
How much does the earring weigh, and how does it sit in the ear?
The amulet earring is 5.4 grams of 925 sterling silver. You feel its weight in the ear, but it doesn't drag on the lobe. This is a mono-earring — a single object, not a pair.
Is this a pair or a single earring?
A single earring — a mono-object. A Thorn Amulet set with a wild-growth stone is made one of one: the stone inside it is the only one of its kind, with no exact second. Wear it on its own, or alongside other silver from STRUGA.
How is the stone held without a setting or cut?
A diagonal cut runs through the silver torpedo, and the green tourmaline sits directly in it — in the shape it grew. This is a wild-growth stone, uncut: it hasn't been polished or shaped to fit a mount, so each one has a form of its own.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver — 925 silver without rhodium plating. The earring arrives light and darkens with air and skin: the recesses of the relief go dark, while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect. You can bring the metal back to the light with care: a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution, worked gently around the stone. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths.
What is a Thorn Amulet, and what is the AMULET family?
AMULET is a STRUGA family from the RITUAL world: earrings and necklaces built around raw, wild-growth stones. The Thorn Amulet is its most expressive type — a torpedo form that repeats the THORN family in volume, as if found in the earth, with a crystal grown inside it. It is an homage to the artist Daniel Arsham.
