Frequently asked questions
Is this a single earring or a pair?
A single earring — mono. It is worn in one ear, in plain view or tucked under the hair. It stands on its own as an object, not as half of a set.
How much does the earring weigh, and what size is it?
3.9 grams of 925 sterling silver, size S — the smallest in the Thorn Amulet line. The body is compact, so the earring does not pull on the lobe and sits well for everyday wear.
Is the stone real, and why is it left uncut?
The stone is a natural, wild-grown aquamarine, left uncut. That is by design: the AMULET is built around the stone in its natural form. Every piece is one of a kind — each stone carries its own colour and edge, and cannot be repeated.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver — 925 sterling without rhodium plating. The earring arrives light and darkens with air and skin: the recesses of the relief deepen, while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect. You can bring the metal back to the light with care — a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. Leave the stone untouched, and avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths.
What is a Thorn Amulet?
The Thorn Amulet is a type within the AMULET family, in the RITUAL world. Its form echoes the THORN spike in three dimensions: a torpedo-shaped silver body opened by a diagonal cut, with an uncut stone resting inside the cut. It is an homage to Daniel Arsham — an object that looks unearthed after thousands of years, with a crystal grown inside it.
