Frequently asked questions
How much does the earring weigh, and what size is it?
The Thorn Amulet earring is 4.9 grams of 925 sterling silver, size M (medium). It reads as a present but compact object: this is the scale the AMULET family was designed around.
Is this a pair of earrings or a single one?
This is a mono earring — a single object, not a pair. It is worn on its own, as a statement in itself.
What is the stone, and why does the earring exist as a single piece?
The stone is wild-grown pink tourmaline: it grew in its natural form, uncut, and sits within the torpedo's cut without a setting. Every stone of this kind is unique in tone and pattern, so the earring exists as a single piece — there is no other stone exactly like it.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver — 925 sterling silver without rhodium plating. The earring arrives light and darkens from air and skin: the recesses of the relief deepen, while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect. You can bring the metal back to the light with care: a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths so the stone is not damaged.
What is a Thorn Amulet?
Thorn Amulet is a type within the AMULET family of the RITUAL world. It carries the THORN form into volume: a silver torpedo with a diagonal cut, holding an untreated, wild-grown stone inside. The form is an homage to Daniel Arsham.
