Frequently asked questions
How much does the earring weigh, and how does it sit in the ear?
The earring is 5.9 grams of 925 sterling silver, size L. It is a single earring for one ear, not a pair. The weight is present, but the lobe carries it calmly; the form makes its statement without overloading the ear.
Is the earring sold as a pair, or is this one?
This is one earring for one ear. The Thorn Amulet is worn mono — as a single object. The stone in this earring is unique: a wild-grown aquamarine with no second like it, so the piece exists in a single example.
What is the stone inside, and does it promise any effect?
Inside is an untreated, wild-grown aquamarine — uncut, selected by hand. We describe it as material and form: its colour, the way the crystal grew, its geology. There is no promise of power, protection, or energy — here the amulet is an object and its personal meaning, not a result.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver — 925 sterling silver without rhodium plating. The earring arrives light and darkens with air and skin: the recesses of the relief deepen, while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect. You can bring the metal back to the light with care — a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. Keep chemicals away from the stone.
What is a Thorn Amulet, and which family does it belong to?
The Thorn Amulet is a type within the AMULET family, in the RITUAL world. Its form echoes the THORN spike in volume: a dissected torpedo with a crystal grown inside. It is an homage to Daniel Arsham. Alongside it stand other objects of the AMULET family, each set with an untreated, wild-grown stone.
