Frequently asked questions
How much does the earring weigh and how does it sit in the ear?
The earring is 7 grams of 925 sterling silver. This is a large format (L): a present object, but with no drag on the ear. It is sold as a single earring, without a pair — worn as a mono earring.
Why "Double Thorn," and why is #3 never repeated?
Double Thorn — because the body holds two stones from the tourmaline family. The stones are chosen after the casting, and no two tourmalines repeat in colour or character; every casting comes out with its own micro-variations. That is why combination #3 exists in a single copy.
What are the stones, and what effect do they have?
These are raw, wild-grown stones — two stones from the tourmaline family, grown in their natural form, uncut. We speak of them as material, colour and form. At STRUGA a stone carries no promise of effect.
Why does the silver darken, and how do I care for it?
The surface is Living Silver — 925 silver without rhodium plating. The earring arrives light and darkens with air and skin: the recesses of the relief deepen, while friction lightens the raised edges. The patina is a property, not a defect. You can bring the metal back to the light with care — a soft cloth or a silver-cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths.
What is the THORN family?
THORN is STRUGA's third form: a barb of sharp angles where CNC and 3D modelling meet. The Thorn Amulet carries that form into volume — a body set with raw, wild-grown stones. The family lives across bracelets, chokers, earrings and rings.
