THE STORY OF THIS PIECE

The brand began with CARBON. STRUGA began with CARBON. The first tests, the first pieces were made of carbon — this is the beginning and the inspiration.

Read the CARBON form story→

A cross cut from Bloody Graphite carbon fiber, framed with a stainless-steel insert, suspended from a Carabiner #1 on a 75 cm chain.

The body of the pendant is CNC-milled from multi-layered Bloody Graphite carbon fiber — STRUGA's in-house red-and-black carbon palette, ultralight and water-resistant. The stainless-steel insert holds the form together; the Carabiner #1 is a large functional clasp that anchors the composition. RITUAL world of STRUGA.

For anyone who wants a heavy-looking object with almost no weight on the neck.

Material: CNC-milled Bloody Graphite carbon fiber — one of STRUGA's own carbon palettes (red and black), with a stainless-steel insert set into the form.

World: RITUAL. Families: CARBON (form cut from sheet carbon) and MOSAIC (materials joined in one plane) — this cross belongs to both.

Form: a cross as form and cultural reference, not a religious promise. Multi-layered, matte, layers visible along the cut edge.

Behavior: carbon is ultralight and water-resistant; unlike silver it neither darkens nor takes on a patina.

Care: wipe with a soft cloth; avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic baths.

About STRUGA. STRUGA is a dark silver jewelry brand founded by Dmitry Strugovshchikov and Ekaterina Strugovshchikova, handcrafted in our Bali workshop by master silversmiths. Every piece is 925 sterling silver, naturally oxidized or hand-patinated. The darkening is part of the design. It is a brutalist object that reacts and changes through contact with the environment and the wearer.

Frequently asked questions

What is this cross made of, and how much does it weigh?

The body of the cross is CNC-cut from multi-layer Bloody Graphite carbon, with a stainless steel plate set into it. The cross hangs on a 75 cm chain closed by a large Carabiner #1 clasp. It weighs 11 grams: the object reads as large, yet you barely feel it around the neck.

What is Bloody Graphite carbon, and how does it behave over time?

Bloody Graphite is one of STRUGA's own carbon palettes — red and black. The carbon is multi-layered and matte, and you can see the layers along the cut edge. It is ultralight, unbothered by water, and does not change over time — unlike silver, carbon neither darkens nor takes on a patina.

How do the CARBON and MOSAIC families differ?

CARBON is the family the brand began with: a CNC aesthetic, the form cut from sheet carbon. MOSAIC is the aesthetic of joined materials — carbon brought together with steel, silver, brass or copper in a single plane. This cross belongs to both: a carbon body with a steel inlay.

Is the cross a religious symbol?

Here the cross is a form and a cultural reference, not a religious promise. That is how the RITUAL world of STRUGA reads it: an object that carries personal symbolic weight for its owner, with no promise of effect.

How do I care for the carbon and the steel inlay?

Carbon and stainless steel do not darken and need no patina work. Wiping them with a soft cloth is enough; carbon is unbothered by water. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic cleaning baths.
