Goro Takahashi (1939–2013) traveled to the United States in the 1960s, lived among Native American silversmiths, and spent the rest of his life translating eagle, feather and bead motifs into wearable Japanese silver. The Tokyo storefront on Omotesando-dori has run on the same principle since the 1980s: a daily lottery, a few selected names, a chance to buy. No e-commerce. No wholesale. No outlet. The lottery is the brand.

Pieces start around $200 for a small feather and climb above $50,000 for original full-set combinations from Goro's hand. The work is heavy 925 silver, often combined with 18k gold inlays, sometimes with turquoise. The visual language is consistent across decades — eagle wings, feathers, dreamcatchers, bear claws, tomahawk forms, beads.

The catch is access. The lottery favours people who can show up in Tokyo on weekday mornings. The grey-market resale (Reddit, Mercari Japan, eBay) sits at 2–4× retail. Most buyers outside Japan never own a piece bought directly.

Living Silver — STRUGA's stance on patina

STRUGA does not rhodium-plate. The darkening you see on a finished piece is part of the design — it deepens with wear, with skin contact, with environment.
