Two workshops. One language in silver.
I am Dmitry Strugovshchikov. My wife Ekaterina Strugovshchikova and I founded STRUGA together in 2018, in Bali. We are both designers and we run the brand together.
My background is in engineering — structural work in oil and gas, then product design. That is where the brand language comes from: weight, plane, joint, proportion. Not ornament. Ekaterina brings the other half — her background is in art and design, and she is the reason the work does not end up purely technical.
How STRUGA started
The first piece I made was a ring for myself. Heavy oxidised silver, no theory behind it — just an object I wanted to wear and could not find anywhere. Everything in the market was too dainty, too decorative, or expensive without reason. I built the version of what I was looking for and wore it for a year to understand whether it held. It held. That became the template for how we work.
Why Bali
Bali is a deliberate choice. The island has one of the oldest living traditions of working silver by hand — techniques passed down in family workshops for generations. We wanted to design and build in the same place, not from a distance. The workshop on the island is where the core of the catalogue is cast and finished.
There is also a second workshop in Stavropol, Russia, where some custom and made-to-order work is handled. Two locations, same standards.
What we make
STRUGA works in 925 sterling silver. Carbon fibre where it makes structural sense. Raw, untreated stones — aquamarines, tourmalines, heliodors — set the way they came out of the ground. Nothing is plated to fake a different finish.
Silver in these pieces is allowed to age and develop a patina that records how a piece is worn. We call that Living Silver. The oxidation is not a defect — it is the design.
The catalogue is organised by five worlds and eleven design families. Pieces are added when the form is right, not because a season requires it.
